Results Day... 3rd July 2019...
Was up and dressed before 9am, which is very early for me, to get ready to go to College to collect my work and get the results for my Final Major Project (FMP).
Reported to Reception where I was given my results in a sealed envelope... Didn't want to open it at first as I didn't want to be disappointed if I hadn't got the result I wanted - at least a Merit...
Encouraged by friends I opened the envelope and pulled out the papers inside.... The first word I found was handwritten on a typed letter, that word was the best result I could have hoped for - DISTINCTION!!!!!
The whole College must have heard my squeal of delight and shock it was so loud!
When the shock had worn off and the result had been digested reality set in and the hard part of the day began - the removal of my work for the past year at College, all 7 ring binders, 2 lever arch files and a sketchbook full of coursework...
Going upstairs I noticed 2 of the 7 A1 boards with my photographs was staring straight at me! Apparently there had been some wall space bare when the Leavers Exhibition had been put up and the bare wall space had been filled with the work of the 1st Year of Level 3 Photography students. My work is visible from the main door and Reception! Everyone coming into College can see my work!
I am very proud of myself for having been given a Distinction for my FMP! My daughter (who has a BSc. Hons and 2 MSc's) is very pleased for and proud of her Mum!! I'm assuming my Son is equally pleased and proud of his Mum as well. I even got a 'Well Done' from my long suffering Husband...
The rest of the day was spent celebrating with a co-student, who had done equally as well as myself. Lunch at The Handmade Burger Company, followed by a film at the local Odeon cinema!
I still overawed with my results...
An even better occasion happened the day before Results Day... My Daughter and her partner got Engaged!!! Lots to celebrate this week!
