Hill Holt Wood, Norton Disney.

Hill Holt Wood is a lovely serene place to have a wander around.  They have days when you can go down there to try out some of the old traditions.  I went one day and learnt how to make a walking stick and a walking pole from thin tree branches.  I had a go at Archery and there was traditional fence making.  Look out for any 'Open Days' they are having and try something new!  They also do 'Bat Walks' in the evenings, again, look out for these events.  There is a cafe which is open on Sundays at the moment.  The entrance is off the A46 just south of Swinderby Roundabout on the southern carriageway going towards Newark-on-Trent.

I love spending time in Hill Holt Wood, it is so quiet and serene. Look out for the open days and bat walks as these can be very informative, you might even be able to try your hand at Archery or making a walking pole or stick!
